Real Estate taxes are based on the current assessed value of your property multiplied times the current millage rage. The Township's millage rate for 2022 is 1.7. This rate is set by the Board of Supervisors and adopted by Resolution in December of each year. These tax dollars help to support the Township, including 24-hour police services, three fire companies, and the general operating expenses of the Township.
Tax Examples:
Assessed Value of $200,000 at 1.7 millage rate = $340
Combined Township and County real estate tax bills are mailed to property owners in February of each year. The base amount is due by June 30. A 2% discount is applied if taxes are paid by April 30, and a 10% penalty is applied to any payments that are postmarked after June 30. The property owner is responsible for forwarding the tax bill to his/her mortgage company if the mortgage company pays the taxes through escrowed funds.
